Better air quality monitoring is needed to accurately assess the impacts of pollution on people’s health.

Researchers from Stirling University say people with respiratory conditions such as asthma may not be linking their symptoms to polluted air.

As many as 3,500 premature deaths are linked to air pollution in Scotland every year.
