BT and Openreach staff consider further strike action

Pay dispute comes as telecoms giant recorded £5billion in profits

BT and Openreach staff are threatening further strike action, if the company continues to refuse workers a “fair” pay rise. Around 6,000 employees in Scotland are striking for a second day in a dispute over pay. Unions rejected an offer by BT of £1,500 instead asking for an increase in line with inflation. More than a thousand staff in Tayside, and a further 100 staff in the North East are affected.
