One of the most significant breakthroughs in cancer treatment is finally available in the North East.
It’s known as CAR-T. The treatment takes cells from patients, sends them abroad to be genetically modified, and then returns them to the patient to fight the cancer.
It’s been available in other parts of the country since 2019, but only now can people from this part of the world be treated here, close to home
