It’s a debilitating and ultimately fatal illness, but now a potentially major breakthrough by Scottish scientists using tropical fish is offering new hope in extending the lives of people affected by motor neurone disease.

Research at Edinburgh University has found a drug already used for other medical conditions could be used to treat MND patients.
