A new project by North East Rider Volunteers Scotland (NERVS Blood Bikes) has been helping free up hospital beds by delivering patients’ prescription medication to their home address rather than them waiting for it in hospital.
The initiative has seen drivers and riders working with around 15 wards at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary to help free up beds faster.
NHS Grampian says the project has been gathering momentum, and many patients are already seeing benefits in their discharge process.
