Avian flu a ‘national emergency’ says RSBP Scotland

Experts on Mull are becoming increasingly concerned about species in the area.

A wildlife charity is calling for urgent action to tackle avian flu in Scotland, describing the situation as a ‘national emergency’.

RSPB Scotland says the outbreaks are devastating for seabirds. So far there have been no confirmed cases on the island, but tourists have already been banned from the nearby Treshnish Isles, in a bid to curb the outbreak.
