Argyll residents ‘denied their say on battery site plans’

The Taynuilt developers have appealed to the Scottish Government, bypassing a local council hearing.

Residents in Argyll say they’ve been denied a chance to have their say over plans for a battery energy storage site.

The firm behind the proposals in Taynuilt have appealed to the Scottish Government, overstepping calls for a local council hearing.

Developers say the site, next to an electricity substation, could help to power up to 150,000 homes for two hours.

However, locals have concerns over fire safety.
