Argyll and Bute to receive £70m boost from UK and Scottish governments

Locals hope this new wave of financial support can help the seaside resort rediscover its prosperity.

Argyll and Bute is getting an extra £70m over the next decade in the hope of bringing badly needed jobs to an area struggling to build its economy.

The UK and Scottish government cash should also help improve infrastructure and restore the historic pavilion in Rothesay.
