That’s how anti-abortion protests outside Scottish hospitals and clinics have been described by those hoping to implement 200 metre buffer zones.

Pro-choice groups say they want to protect women trying to access healthcare from being targeted.

Meanwhile, the Texas-based organisation 40 Days for Life, who say they have a network of ‘700’ volunteers in Scotland, have begun a series of what they call prayer vigils today, to coincide with the start of Lent.
