As a journalist it was a bit odd really – spending the day at a Labour conference mostly phoning people in the SNP to see what was going on – and everyone I spoke to at the Labour conference really only wanted to know about what was going on in the SNP.
Labour are pretty pleased with a poll today which puts them within a couple of points of the SNP at a General Election, much closer than previous polls.
Anas Sarwar had a few policy plans to announce – cutting the number of NHS bosses by scrapping all but three health boards, a new tax on Amazon and other online retailers and a plan to buy up empty houses and sell them for a pound for families to fix up.
But even he had to focus on the SNP leadership race.
