Scotland’s justice secretary, Angela Constance, admits she is worried, after the latest round of early releases began in prisons this morning.
The emergency scheme is designed to ease pressure on prison staff, as the number of inmates hit another record high.
Almost 1,000 are due to walk free over the next six months.
Victims who are feeling anxious are being urged to sign up to a notification scheme.
