Airport chaos amid global computer software outage

An update from the anti-virus company Crowdstrike meant Windows machines were failing.

Thousands of passengers flying in or out of Edinburgh Airport have been met with significant delays or cancellations, after it was severely hit by a global computer outage.

The airport’s own systems, as well as those of several airlines, were badly affected – but Scotland seems to have escaped the worst of the problems which elsewhere involved banks, retailers and the health service.
