MSPs have voted to pass the first stage of a bill that would see the creation of buffer zones around clinics where abortions are carried out.
The legislation, brought forward by Green MSP Gillian Mackay would prevent anti-abortion protesters from gathering within 200 metres of hospitals and other facilities.
However, it faces strong opposition from those who say they are not protesting but holding vigil.
