Lecturers at the University of Aberdeen have resumed strike action for ten days, after talks with management to end the dispute failed to reach an agreement.
The University and College Union called on the institution to take compulsory redundancies off the table for six months – but say this was rejected by the institution.
A spokesperson for the University of Aberdeen said it was disappointed talks with the union fell short of mutual agreement but that it remains unable to rule out compulsory redundancies.
The University’s court, the governing body of the institution, will meet later this month and consider some of the cost-saving proposals on the table.
