Aberdeen Low Emission Zone raises over £1m in first three months

Aberdeen's Low Emission Zone came into force in June.

More than £1m worth of charges were issued during the first three months of Aberdeen’s Low Emission Zone’s coming into force.

Figures obtained through a Freedom of Information request show that more than 18,000 notices have been issued to non-compliant vehicles between June and September.

The council says money generated goes back to the Scottish Government but businesses argue more needs to be done to help with falling footfall.
