Aberdeen City Council facing £46 million budget hole

Recommendations to reduce or stop funding some services has led to concern for community groups

More than £46 million of savings are needed to balance Aberdeen city council’s books. Councillors have been meeting to decide its budget for the next year.

The original proposals put forward, included raising council tax by 10% but Councillors have agreed the increase will be half of that.

Aberdeen is one of eight local authorities across the country setting their budgets today.
