750 lives saved so far by minimum unit pricing says study

The biggest reductions in deaths were among men and in the most deprived parts of the country

It’s five years since minimum unit pricing was brought in for alcohol sales in Scotland and today there’s evidence the policy may be helping to tackle the country’s drink problem.

A study published in the medical journal the Lancet estimates more than 150 have been prevented each year since the law was introduced.
