Scottish Government statistics show a 41% decrease in work beginning on social home

The First Minister is being warned his “defining mission” to tackle poverty is at risk, after a dramatic drop in the number of social homes under construction.

Housing groups are claiming £700 million is required to put the country back on track in building affordable homes – with spiralling building costs making it increasingly more difficult to achieve existing targets.
