35,000 calls to NHS24 abandoned, new figures show

The Health Secretary has apologised to people who've had to wait longer than expected.

Figures obtained by STV News have revealed nearly 35,000 calls for advice to NHS24 were abandoned last month alone.

The NHS’s 111 phone service should be the first port of call for anyone looking for health advice– and keep people away from busy A&E departments.
