17-year-old first from her school to be accepted into Oxford

Her parents say there should be more support available to allow pupils from deprived areas to aim high

A 17-year-old from Castlemilk is the first person from her school to be accepted into Oxford University.

Megan McCloskey begins her studies in Chemistry in October after achieving straight A’s in her exams.

But Megan’s big achievement could leave her in almost £80,000 of debt.
