Man charged over ‘suspicious’ death at block of flats

A man has been charged and is due to appear in court following a “suspicious” death in Glasgow.

Police are investigating the death William Campbell, 37, following reports of a disturbance within a garden at a block of flats in Elmvale Street, Springburn, at 3.50pm on Tuesday.

Mr Campbell was taken by ambulance to the city’s royal infirmary, where he died a short time later.

A 43-year-old man was arrested in connection with the incident.

The force has since revealed he has now been charged and will appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court on Thursday.

A full report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “The 43-year-old man has now been arrested and charged in connection with the death, and is due before Glasgow Sheriff Court on Thursday, March 26.”
