Celtic clinched their second league title in a row with a 2-0 win over Hearts at Tynecastle on Sunday.

With five games to go it was only a matter of when and not if Ange Postecoglou’s men were going to be champions of Scotland again.

But they achieved it at the soonest possible opportunity and are now on track for a record 107 points if they win their remaining fixtures.

From the opening day of the season it has been a relentless charge to the title for the Hoops who are also only one game away from a historic eighth treble when they play Inverness in the Scottish Cup final next month.

With only one defeat and two draws from 34 games they have again been too good for the rest of the top flight as the won their eleventh title in the last 12 seasons.

We take a look back at some of the results that have made it a season to remember for Glasgow’s green and white.

It was away back in July when they started the defence of the title they won last year in Postecoglou’s first season in charge.

And they began as they meant to go on with a routine win over Jim Goodwin’s Aberdeen at Celtic Park.

Defender Stephen Welsh opened the scoring before Jota sealed the win in his first game since making his move from Benfica permanent.

The biggest win of the campaign came back in August when the Hoops obliterated Dundee United at Tannadice.

Kyogo and Liel Abada both helped themselves to a hat-trick each as they ran out 9-0 winners in Tayside.

Jota was on the scoresheet again as was Josip Juranovic and Carl Starfelt.

Celtic 4-0 Rangers

Ange Postecoglou’s side laid down a real marker on their aspirations on their ambitions for the season ahead when they came up against their main challengers back in September.

Rangers were crushed 4-0 at Celtic Park and already the writing was on the wall for where the league title would be heading.

A Liel Abada double and a Jota chip put them three ahead in the first half against Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s men.

David Turnbull put the icing on the cake with the fourth of the afternoon after a calamitous error from Rangers keeper Jon McGlaughlin.

Hearts 3-4 Celtic

One of the games of the season took place in October just after VAR had been introduced to the Premiership in a seven-goal thriller at Tynecastle.

A Lawrence Shankland hat-trick wasn’t enough to earn a result for Hearts as Celtic hit back through James Forrest, Giorgos Giakoumakis and Daizen Maeda.

Greg Taylor was the unlikely hero when the left-back scored the winner to take all three points back to Glasgow.

Celtic 3-2 Rangers

Celtic’s season has been summed up by their dominance over their city rivals with four wins from five Old Firm games.

The latest Premiership win over Rangers came at Parkhead when Kyogo scored a double and Jota netted the third in a 3-2 win.

A James Tavernier double, including a spectacular free-kick, wasn’t enough to keep Michael Beale’s men in the title race as they fell to 12 points behind.

Kyogo was again on the scoresheet as the Hoops beat ten-man Hearts to rubber stamp the title at Tynecastle in the first game after the split.

South Korea forward Hyeongyu Oh grabbed the second as the league trophy was secured for another season.

With four games remaining Celtic remain on course to set a new points record in the Scottish top-flight.
