Ten-man Rangers scored a last-minute penalty to draw with Dundee at Ibrox.

Despite the late comeback, it is another two points dropped for Russell Martin’s men with two draws in their first two Premiership games.

Ryan Astley scored a header to give Steven Pressley’s side a shock lead at Ibrox on Saturday afternoon before Nasser Djiga was sent off shortly after.

Just as it looked as though Dundee would be leaving with all three points, James Tavernier converted a spot kick in the dying minutes.

Rangers dominated much of the early possession as they looked to take the game to the visitors right from kick-off.

Joe Rothwell fired a long-range strike wide off the target and Djeidi Gassama had a wayward shot well over the bar.

The best chance of the half came up the other end when Finlay Robertson had a close-range header come back off the post in a warning sign for Rangers.

Jefte had the last chance of the first 45 but he failed to hit the target with a volley and it remained all square going into the break.

Mohamed Diomande had a shot well saved by Dundee keeper Jon McCracken not long after the restart.

The visitors took the lead just moments later when Astley sent a looping header over Jack Butland and into the net to make it 1-0 just five minutes into the second-half.

Things went from bad to worse for Rangers, who were reduced to ten men on the hour mark when Djiga was shown a straight red card for a last-man challenge on Robertson to halt his charge towards Butland’s goal.

The home side were thrown a lifeline in the last minute of normal time when they were awarded a penalty for a foul on Gassama inside the box.

Captain James Tavernier stepped up and slotted the ball into the bottom corner to make it 1-1 going into injury time.

Cyriel Dessers thought he had won it deep into added-on time when he had the ball in the net, but the goal was ruled out for offside, and the game ended in a draw.
