Barry Ferguson has named his Rangers side to face Athletic Bilbao in the first leg of their Europa League quarter-final tie.

The sides meet at Ibrox on Thursday night and Ferguson has made six changes to his starting line-up for the test against the Spanish side, with Jack Butland being replaced with Liam Kelly in goal the most notable.

The interim boss had promised some players would be dropping out of the side following the weekend’s 2-0 home defeat against Hibs, and was going to be forced to make two key alterations anyway, with John Souttar and Mohamed Diomande suspended for the first game.

There were also calls for Liam Kelly to replace Jack Butland in goal after the Englishman was at fault for the first of Hibs’ goals last weekend.

Kelly has been given the nod to start and he plays behind a back four of Ridvan Yilmaz, Robin Propper, Leon Balogun and captain James Tavernier.

Dujon Sterling and Nico Raskin are in the heart of midfield, with Bailey Rice, Ianis Hagi and Vaclav Cerny playing in support of striker Cyriel Dessers.

On the substitutes bench are Jack Butland, Rydnnn McGuire, Connor Barron, Nedim Bajrami, Clinton Nsiala, Jefts, Hamza Igamane, Ross McCausland, Findlay Curtis, Aiden McCallion and Danilo Pereira.
