Rangers head coach Russell Martin and Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers have named their sides for the first Old Firm derby of the season.

Both sides are targeting a big win after the disappointment of Champions League exits in midweek but there’s further pressure on Martin with Rangers having failed to win any of their first three Premiership fixtures.

Celtic’s new signing Michel-Ange Balikwisha makes his debut, while Bojan Miovski starts for Rangers just a day after completing his move from Girona.

There’s no place in the Rangers squad for Belgium international Nico Raskin, days after Martin denied any breakdown in his relationship with the midfielder. Adam Idah was left out of the Celtic squad as he closes in on a move to Swansea City.

Rangers start with Jack Butland in goal behind a back four of Jayden Meghoma, Nasser Djiga, John Souttar and captain James Tavernier.

Connor Barron, Mohamed Diomande and Thelo Aasgaard make up a midfield trio, while Djeidi Gassama and Mikey Moore start either side of striker Miovski.

Celtic have Kasper Schmeichel in goal and a back four of Kieran Tierney, Liam Scales, Cameron Carter-Vickers and Anthony Ralston.

Captain Callum McGregor is in the heart of the midfield alongside Reo Hatate and Arne Engels.

Up front, Daizen Maeda will play through the middle with Balikwisha on one side and Benjamin Nygren on the other.
