Kilmarnock have signed Ash Taylor after the defender left Walsall, reuniting the player with manager Derek McInnes after their time together at Aberdeen.
Taylor has signed an 18-month deal with Killie and the central defender will be a key part of the team’s push to win promotion back to the Premiership.
Taylor is well known to Scottish football and McInnes in particular, having been signed twice for Aberdeen by the manager and making 178 appearances for the Pittodrie side over two spells in the north east.
He now turns his attention to putting the Ayrshire team back in the top flight and says the opportunity was too good to turn down.
“I’m really excited to join as I know what a great club Kilmarnock is having played against them in the past and I can’t wait to get going,” he told the club’s website.
“Everything about Killie is exciting at the moment, especially the challenge to gain promotion back to the Premiership by winning the league.
“The manager was naturally a huge factor in me coming here. I’ve had two spells playing under him so when I got the call it was an easy decision to make.”
