The top four of the Scottish Women’s Premier League are separated by just three points following the weekend’s action.
Leaders Glasgow City City lost ground on the chasing pack with defeat to third-placed Hibernian in Edinburgh as Rangers and Celtic also recorded victories.
Hibs beat City 3-1 thanks to a double from Kathleen McGovern and one from Eilidh Adams while Brenna Lovera got one back for the visitors at the Meadowbank Stadium.
Defending champions Celtic are now up to fourth and three points off the top while having a game in hand over the top-trio, following an impressive 4-0 win over Hearts in Hamilton.
Shannon McGregor, Saoirse Noonan and Morgan Cross had the Hoops 3-0 up at half-time before Natalie Ross added another after the break.
Hearts, who were ahead of Celtic on goal difference going into the game, now drop into fifth.
Second placed Rangers move to within two points of Glasgow City at the top after a 3-0 victory over ten-woman Spartans in Edinburgh.
Kate Fraser was shown a red card for the hosts at Ainslie Park in the capital at the end of the first half with the game still goalless.
Jo Potter’s side turned the screw after the break with a double from Katie Wilkinson and one from Jane Ross.
Elsewhere Aberdeen beat Queen’s Park 3-0, Partick Thistle beat Dundee United 4-1 and Motherwell won 4-0 away at Montrose in a game that saw both sides being reduced to ten players each.
Celtic play Queen’s Park on Wednesday night with a chance to go joint top.
