Glasgow City thrashed Dundee United in Tayside on Sunday to take top spot in the Scottish Women’s Premier League.

Leanne Ross’s side won 13-0 after the hosts had a player sent off in the opening three minutes.

Emily Whelan scored a hat-trick with Brenna Lovera and Nicole Kozlova both hitting a brace and Natalia Wrobel, Aleigh Gambone, Sofia Maatta, Katie Lockwood and Lisa Forrest all getting one each.

That put them a point ahead of Rangers who drew 1-1 with Hibernian in Edinburgh after a 93rd minute equaliser from Rio Hardy.

Eilidh Adams had put Hibs ahead from the penalty spot in the first-half of the game.

Celtic bounced back from their midweek Champions League disappointment in Madrid with a 1-0 win over Spartans that keeps them five points behind City but with a game in hand.

Morgan Cross scored the only goal of the game for the champions on the ninth minute at New Douglas Park.

Hearts scored three late goals to beat Montrose 3-0 and stay in third place and just a single point behind City at the top.

The game was goalless going into the last 15 minutes before Bayley Hutchison scored a quickfire double and Monica Forsyth struck in the last minute.

In the fifth and final game of the weekend Partick Thistle beat Queen’s Park 2-0 with goals from Caley Gibb and Tiree Burchill.
