Motherwell manager Stuart Kettlewell has been handed another one-match touchline ban for Wednesday’s Premiership match at Kilmarnock.
The Fir Park boss, who has been left exasperated by a string of decisions against his team recently, has been issued with a suspension by the Scottish Football Association after being sent off in the 2-2 draw at home to Rangers on December 29.
Kettlewell was shown two yellow cards within the space of a few minutes midway through the second half after arguing with match officials in the wake of a booking for Well midfielder Lennon Miller for a foul on Gers attacker Oscar Cortes.
It is Kettlewell’s second touchline ban in the space of a month after he was forced to watch his side’s 4-3 home win over Dundee United on December 14 from the stand, having been booked three times in the Steelmen’s previous four matches.
Wednesday’s trip to Rugby Park represents a rematch of the fixture at Fir Park the Friday before Christmas when Well defender Dan Casey was controversially sent off for an altercation with Danny Armstrong, while Killie were denied a penalty despite Andy Halliday appearing to catch Brad Lyons’ foot.
Both decisions in the 1-1 draw were subsequently deemed incorrect by the SFA’s Key Match Incident review panel.
