Steve Clarke has named his squad for this month’s Hampden double-header as the journey towards Euro 2024 gets underway.

Scotland will host Cyprus in their opening qualifier on Saturday, March 25, before Spain come to Glasgow three days later.

Georgia and Norway make up the five-team group with a place at Germany next summer on the line with the side at the top qualifying directly and the runner-up gaining a play-off place.

However Clarke’s men already have a play-off place secured thanks to their Nations League victory last year.

Norwich City goalkeeper Angus Gunn has been called up after committing his future to Scotland despite being a former England Under-21 international.

He will replaced injured veteran Craig Gordon in the squad and will fight it out with Motherwell’s Liam Kelly and Hearts star Zander Clark for a starting spot.

Captain Andy Robertson will again lead the side but Liverpool teammate Calvin Ramsey has not been included this time.

First choice centre half Scott McKenna has also been ruled out with injury.

Former Hibs star Ryan Porteous, who won his first cap in the draw against Ukraine in October, is again included after a good start to his Watford career.

He will compete with Jack Hendry, Liam Cooper and Grant Hanley for a place in the backline alongside Kieran Tierney, Aaron Hickey and Nathan Patterson.

Celtic captain Callum McGregor, John McGinn, Scott McTominay, Lewis Ferguson, Kenny McLean, Ryan Jack, Billy Gilmour and Stuart Armstrong make up the midfield.

The starting forwards will be chosen from Southampton’s Che Adams, Lyndon Dykes, Ryan Christie and Jacob Brown.
