St Mirren manager Stephen Robinson has sent his best wishes to St Johnstone forward Adama Sidibeh as he praised his club’s medical staff for their response on Saturday.
Sidibeh was taken to hospital after collapsing at the end of his side’s cinch Premiership defeat in Paisley.
St Johnstone later revealed the 25-year-old was in a stable condition following medical checks.
Robinson said: “Our medical team were incredible, (physio) Gerry Docherty and Ian (Heron), our doc, were top class. St Johnstone acknowledged that as well, both medical teams.
“It really does put football into perspective when a boy has collapsed on the football pitch.
“We wish him well. Everybody at St Mirren wishes him well and we hope to see him back on the pitch fit and healthy as soon as possible.”
Speaking immediately after the game, St Johnstone manager Craig Levein said: “The doc said he had low blood pressure.
“He did get a knock on his head but was fine when the physio went on, there were no symptoms of problems.
“He stayed on the park. We had a chance pretty late on and maybe the keeper caught him. Maybe that led to him lying on the ground, I don’t know. We need to get further checks for peace of mind.”
Elsewhere in the Scottish Professional Football League on Saturday, Hamilton defender Kyle Macdonald suffered a serious head injury during his side’s League 1 defeat by Alloa.
Accies issued an update on the 24-year-old former Motherwell, Airdrie and Dunfermline player on Monday.
A brief statement read: “Kyle remains in hospital where it was confirmed he sustained a fractured skull at Saturday’s match.
“He is stable and hopes to be out later today. We are all supporting him, and he will obviously be out for the near future.”
