Kilmarnock and Celtic have named their starting line-ups for the final League Cup second round game.

The all Premiership clash is taking place at Rugby Park with a 3pm kick-off on Sunday with a place in the quarter-finals on the line.

The Ayrshire side are looking to continue their good start to the season, that included an opening day league victory over Rangers and a draw with Hearts at Tynecastle, as the Hoops begin their defence of one of three trophies they lifted last season.

Derek McInnes has started with Will Dennis in goals behind a central back three of Lewis Mayo, Robbie Deas and Stuart Findlay with Corrie Nbada and Danny Armstrong in wing-back roles.

Brad Lyons, who scored the winner in their opening day Premiership win, is in midfield beside Kyle Magennis, David Watson and Matty Kennedy as they look to provide the service for frontman Marley Watkins.

Celtic won the 22/23 edition of the tournament by defeating city-rivals Rangers in the final earlier this year on their way to a domestic clean sweep under former manager Ange Postecoglou.

It was also the last trophy won by current boss Brendan Rodgers in his last spell at the club and they will again be hoping to reach the final being held at Hampden in December.

They start with Joe Hart in goals behind a back four of Anthony Ralston, Greg Taylor, Maik Nawrocki and debutant Gustaf Lagerbielke.

Captain Callum McGregor anchors a midfield three alongside in-form Matt O’Riley, who has two goals in two games this season and Odim Holm who makes his first start.

Liel Abada and Daizen Maeda start either side of last season’s cup winning hero Kyogo Furuhashi who has scored a double in the last two League Cup finals.

Reo Hatate and Cameron Carter-Vicker are missing for the holders after going off injured in the 3-1 win over Aberdeen last week.
