St Mirren manager Stephen Robinson says he is excited to have secured the signing of striker Stav Nahmani ahead of the new season.

The Paisley club has announced that Nahmani will join on loan from Maccabi Haifa, subject to international clearance.

Nahmani has played for Israel at every youth level up to Under-21, where he has five caps and one goal. He has played for Hapoel Nof Hagalil, Beitar Jerusalem and Hapoel Hadera.

The 20-year-old will now continue his development at St Mirren and Buddies boss Robinson believes he can make a positive impact.

“Stav came to us through the same contacts that we got Ryan Strain from Maccabi Haifa,” the manager said.

“He’s a young player that’s come through the Israeli age groups.

“He’s got a great work ethic and he gives us real raw pace running in behind.

“We hope he can add goals to our team and pace in the forward areas, He’s a real exciting one that can play in a couple of areas across the forward areas.”

Nahmani’s arrival was announced hours after the club confirmed that striker Eamonn Brophy has been sold to Ross County after he enjoyed a spell on loan in Dingwall last season.
