Ross County have signed goalkeeper Jake Eastwood on loan from Sheffield United on a season-long deal.

Eastwood trained with the County squad at their pre-season camp in Verona last week and has now agreed terms on a move to Dingwall.

The 25-year-old will now challenge Ross Laidlaw to be starting goalkeeper for County as the team look to build on last season’s top-half finish.

Eastwood, who counts Chesterfield, Scunthorpe and Grimsby among his former clubs, has limited experience of Scottish football following a spell at Kilmarnock, where he played just twice in the 2020/21 season.

Ross County manager Malky Mackay believes the experience he has gained until now can be a boost to County’s squad.

He said: “Jake is a goalkeeper that has tested himself across different leagues during his career so far and has worked with some really good goalkeepers and coaches.

“We are delighted he has joined us for the current campaign, and I would like to thank Sheffield United for seeing Ross County as the place where Jake can really challenge himself this season.”
