Pedro Martinez Losa has named 11 SWPL stars including seven Rangers players in his Scotland women’s squad for upcoming friendlies against Australia and Costa Rica.
The national team’s top stars including Real Madrid’s Caroline Weir, Chelsea’s Erin Cuthbert and LA Angel City’s Claire Emslie are also included.
However captain Rachel Corsie is missing through injury as she faces a fight to be fit in time for Aston Villa’s FA Cup semi-final.
Scotland play the Matildas in London on Friday, April 7 before hosting the Costa Ricans at Hampden the following Tuesday.
SWPL champions Rangers have been rewarded for their recent form with call ups for Jenna Fife, Nicola Docherty, Kathryn Hill, Rachel McLaughlin, Sam Kerr, Emma Watson and Brogan Hay, who scored in Monday’s Old Firm draw.
There are no Celtic players in the Scotland squad but Glasgow City players Lee Gibson, Jenna Clark, Amy Muir and Lauren Davidson make up the strong Scottish-based contingent as the domestic game continues to grow.
Other clubs represented in squad include Liverpool’s Eartha Cummings, West Ham United’s Kirsty Smith, AC Milan’s Christy Grimshaw and Manchester United’s Martha Thomas.
