A Scottish League Two manager has been replaced by his assistant amid an ongoing investigation.
Elgin City, who finished sixth in the fourth tier, confirmed last week that Allan Hale was suspended from his duties.
The nature of the investigation is not yet known.
Hale was appointed, along with his assistant Stefan Laird, in December 2023, in a bid to save the black and whites from relegation.
This season, the club narrowly missed out on the League One promotion play-off spots.
Now, the club have confirmed Hale has been replaced by his assistant “until further notice”.
A statement from the Moray side said: “Elgin City Football Club confirm that Stefan Laird has been appointed as acting manager of our men’s team until further notice.
“The board of directors would like to place on record our thanks to Stefan for his professionalism and commitment during this time.
“We encourage everyone to provide their full support to Stefan and our coaching staff. We are unable to make any further comments at this time.”
