Scotland’s match against Morocco will be shown live on STV and on the STV Player, after broadcasters agreed their picks for next year’s World Cup finals.

STV will also have the side’s first knock-out game if the Dark Blues make history by getting out of the group for the first time.

The men’s national team will take part in the biggest tournament in football for the first time in 28 years when they make the trip across the Atlantic next summer.

Friday’s gala draw ceremony put Steve Clarke’s side in Group C alongside Brazil, Morocco, and Haiti and had the Tartan Army immediately searching for flights and accommodation in the host cities of Boston and Miami, where Scotland will play their games.

For those who are supporting from home, the full details of the television schedule have now been confirmed. STV will be showing the second match, against Morocco at 11pm UK time on June 19, when Scotland could seal a place in the last 32 of the competition.

The opening match against Haiti on June 14, and the third match against Brazil on June 26, will both be shown on the BBC.

The tournament opens with Mexico vs. South Africa on STV on 11 June setting the stage for a summer of wall-to-wall football.

STV will air 29 group-stage matches, including England’s first match of the tournament against Croatia live from Dallas kicking off at 9pm UK time on Wednesday 17th June and England’s final group-stage match against Panama, kick off 10pm UK time on 27th June.

FIFA have also confirmed some other details for the tournament. All teams have to take to the pitch nine minutes before kick-off time (up from seven minutes at the Qatar finals), and if there is stormy weather then an initial 15 minutes per flash break will be used, halving the set time from the summer’s Club World Cup.

The organisers have also confirmed that Robbie Williams and Nicole Scherzinger’s World Cup anthem ‘Desire’ will be played ahead of every game, and that each fixture will have half-time entertainment.
