Scotland have been drawn against Switzerland, Slovenia and North Macedonia in the Nations League.
Steve Clarke’s side were amongst the top seeds in League B, but may not require the safety net of the Nations League as an alternate route to qualification for Euro 2028.
The Euros in two years’ time will be co-hosted by England, Scotland, Wales and the Republic of Ireland.
The draw for the 2026-27 Nations League took place in Brussels on Thursday evening.
The matches will take place between September and November this year.
The Scots were relegated from League A after a home defeat to Greece in March last year.
It comes as the Tartan Army get set to travel to North America this summer for the World Cup, where they will face Haiti, Morocco and Brazil.
