Scotland get defensive injury boost ahead of Morocco game

The 29-year-old Dinamo Zagreb centre-back missed the 1-0 Group C win over Haiti on Saturday with a calf injury

Scott McKenna returned to training ahead of Scotland’s World Cup clash with Morocco on Friday night.

The 29-year-old Dinamo Zagreb centre-back missed the 1-0 Group C win over Haiti on Saturday with a calf injury which has curtailed his preparations.

However, boss Steve Clarke now has a full complement of players for their second group game at the Boston stadium.

With Morocco and Brazil drawing 1-1 in their group opener, the Scots are top of the table with three points as they look to qualify for the knockout stages for the first time.

After taking on Morocco, Scotland, who are in the World Cup for the first time since 1998, fly to Miami for their final Group C fixture against the Brazilians on June 24.
