A Scotland women’s rugby international has been postponed after a player tested positive for coronavirus.
The Six Nations clash between Scotland and France was due to take place in Scotstoun Stadium on Saturday but has now been called off.
Scottish Rugby say the player is being treated in “a health care facility but is otherwise well”, while seven other members of staff are in self-isolation.
Scottish Rugby has taken advice from the Chief Medical Officer for Scotland and the Scottish Government but say the decision to postpone rests with the rugby authorities.
The Six Nations CEO has been in constant contact is in full support of this decision.
The Scotland women’s team returned from northern Italy on Sunday 23 February as their Italy v Scotland Six Nations match was postponed.
Dr James Robson, Scottish Rugby’s Chief Medical officer said, “We are pleased that our player is doing well and that all the correct medical procedures have been followed and continue to be followed.
“We are working with the Scottish Government in continuing to observe and follow NHS advice.”
