Hibs boss Jack Ross believes a Premiership test against Aberdeen gives his side the chance to puit their Scottish Cup defeat behind them.
The Easter Road side lost to city rivals Hearts in the semi-final at Hampden last week, suffering a disappointing defeat after a bright start to the season.
Ross says the pain of that defeat has to go if the team are to get back on track.
“It has to subside because we have an important game tomorrow evening and then a number of important fixtures in the rest of the season,” he said. “The pain was acute and maybe takes a bit longer to subside but you have to put it aside, refocus and use it as motivation to have success this season.
“Outwith the top two in the league it’s the most difficult venue you can visit in terms of the level the opposition can perform at.”
Hibs haven’t won at Pittodrie in eight years and Ross says that’s one record he would like to end and that the players can get the right result if they play to their abilities.
“I know the club hasn’t had a great recent history there and it’s something we need to put right but I think we are capable of doing that,” he said.
I think we have proven over recent games in the league and cup competitions that we are a good side. When you’re a good side, you can approach the game with confidence.”
