Rory Sutherland is among four players to be called into Scotland’s Guinness Six Nations squad ahead of Saturday’s encounter against Italy in Rome.
Sutherland is joined by fellow prop Javan Sebastian plus flanker Marshall Sykes and back Jamie Dobie.
Sione Tuipulotu, Alex Craig and WP Nel have dropped out of Gregor Townsend’s squad.
Sutherland missed out on the original squad due to a lack of game time at Oyonnax while Sebastian has been in and out through fitness issues.
Dobie initially missed out because of an ankle injury but he trained with the squad ahead of the tournament opener against Wales and has started the last two games for Glasgow.
Edinburgh lock Sykes has made one Scotland appearance, against Tonga in October 2021.
Tuipulotu drops out after suffering a knee injury in Scotland’s Calcutta Cup win. It was revealed last week that the Glasgow centre will be out for 10-12 weeks.
Nel missed Scotland’s opening Six Nations games with a neck injury but started for Edinburgh against Ospreys on Friday night.
Scarlets second row Craig was called up to the squad ahead of the victory over England.
