Brendan Rodgers praised the mentality and desire of his Celtic side after a dramatic League Cup final victory over Rangers.
The Hoops beat their rivals in a penalty shootout after a 3-3 draw at Hampden on Sunday.
Rangers had the lead at half-time but Celtic scored two early goals in the second 45 to go 2-1 up.
Philippe Clement’s men equalised to make it 2-2 before a dramatic ending ensued.
Nicolas Kuhn thought he had won it when he scored with just minutes remaining, but the Ibrox side fought back again to take it to extra-time and then penalties.
Celtic scored all their penalties to win the shootout 5-4 after Kasper Schmeichel saved from Ridvan Yilmaz.
Speaking after the game, Rodgers insisted the support got their money’s worth.
He said: “It’s all about mentality and getting through the game.
”To be in front and then get pegged back is not ideal, but it can happen in a cup final when there’s nothing to lose and no second chances.
”But it’s the team that has the desire to win these games and that’s what came out in the end.
”It was a great final, a Celtic v Rangers game that finishes 3-3 and goes to penalties – people get their money’s worth watching it.
”Of course you want to be on the right side of it, and thankfully we were.”
