Rangers win Diomande red card appeal after midfielder sent off against Dundee United

At the time Phillip Clement said he 'didn't understand' the referee's decision to give the player his marching orders.

Rangers have won their appeal over the red card shown to Mohamed Diomande against Dundee United on Sunday.

Referee Nick Walsh handed Diomande a straight red card in the fifth minute of added time after he threw a hand at United defender Kevin Holt who had pushed him.

Walsh stuck with his decision after VAR Don Robertson sent him to the pitch side monitor.

At the time, Rangers boss Philippe Clement said he “didn’t understand” the referee’s decision to give the player his marching orders.

Diomande is now available to play against Ross County on Sunday.
