Rangers have continued their 100% winning start to the league season with a 4-0 victory over St Johnstone at Ibrox.
Malik Tillman, Antonio Colak, Scott Arfield and Tom Lawrence all scored as the home side picked up all three points as Glasgow baked in temperatures reaching around 28C on Saturday afternoon.
Giovanni van Bronckhorst handed a first start to former Liverpool defender Ben Davies with Ryan Jack, Rabbi Matondo and Scott Wright all brought back in to the line-up as the manager made four changes from the 3-0 victory over USG.
Tuesday night’s goal here Malik Tillman was among the early chances as the home side piled on the pressure but it was the visitors who came closest in the early stages with a Theo Blair chance against the run of play.
John Lundstram then forced a save from Matthews on the half hour mark before the deadlock was broken by USA international Tillman.
The 20-year-old, signed on a season long loan deal from Bayern Munich, scored from a header just like four days ago when he kept the club’s Champions League dream alive with the winning goal in a 3-2 aggregate victory.
Around half way through the second half Antonio Colak scored his third goal in as many games to double Rangers’ lead.
The on form Croatian striker has scored against Kilmarnock, USG and now St Johnstone as he continues to keep Alfredo Morelos on the bench on his return to action from injury.
Scott Arfield then made it 3-0 after coming off the bench to seal the game with ten minutes to go following good work by Motondo to cut it back and give the former Canada international a tap-in.
Lawrence, who also came off the bench, added another a few short minutes later to add gloss to the score line and make it four.
