Rangers signed Aaron Ramsey on loan from Juventus as the transfer window ended with a flurry of deals at Premiership clubs.

The Ibrox side beat other clubs to the signing of Wales international Ramsey, with the high-profile midfielder having fallen out of favour in Turin and saying Rangers had an appeal that other clubs didn’t when it came to choosing his next destination.

Giovanni van Bronckhorst also added to his defensive options with the capture of 20-year-old right-back Mateusz Zukowski from Legia Gdansk. However, a second bid for John Souttar, who will join from Hearts in the summer, was rejected by the Tynecastle club.

Rangers also agreed a mutual termination of Brandon Barker’s contract, allowing the winger to sign for someone else after the window closed.

Celtic had brought in new faces earlier in the window but saw some players leave the club on loan. Osaze Urhoghide has joined Oostende until the end of the season, while Adam Montgomery has joined Aberdeen.

Hearts didn’t do any deadline day business but Hibs signed winger Sylvester Jasper on loan from Fulham and added Runar Hauge to the development squad.

Alex Gogic left Hibs to join St Mirren on loan and the Paisley side also announced the arrival of Jordan Jones until the end of the season. Kristian Dennis left to join Carlisle United, Kyle McAllister went to Partick Thistle on loan while Jamie McGrath left late on deadline day, joining Wigan Athletic for an undisclosed fee.

Dundee were unsuccessful in a move to land Ricki Lamie from Motherwell in this window rather than wait until summer, but they did bring in new faces. Leicester right-back Vontae Daley-Campbell arrived on loan and Zak Rudden was signed from Partick Thistle with Alex Jakubiak going the other way.

St Johnstone have been revamping their squad throughout the window and made two late signings. Striker Theo Bair arrived from Vancouver Whitecaps for an undisclosed fee and Cardiff’s Tom Sang signed on loan.

Dundee United moves to replace Jeando Fuchs, snapping up Arsenal’s Tim Akinola on loan, while Louis Appere left to join Northampton.

Though the transfer window has closed, clubs will still be able to sign unregistered players.
