Danny Rohl has said that he will use Arsenal’s slip-up against Wolves as a reminder that there are no easy games as his side prepares to face bottom club Livingston.
The Premier League leaders made headlines after letting a two-goal lead slip against the division’s bottom side, Wolves, on Wednesday.
Among those watching was Danny Rohl, who said he will be using the match as a reminder that “there are no easy games” ahead of Sunday’s clash with bottom club Livingston, who have only amassed 12 points from 27 games.
“I think the mindset for our players is completely there”, he said.
“You beat Celtic away, and then you beat Hearts, this is not so bad.
“I think it’s now about these games you think have to win to take the three points, i think this is crucial.
“You can compare our situation to Arsenal against Wolverhampton. Everyone will think this is an easy win, but even in these games, the teams down there do not have so much to lose.
“So it’s very important that we go serious, but I feel at the moment there is no doubt and there is 100 per cent focus on the next challenge.”
The match comes after arguably Rangers’ best performance of the season so far, after Youssef Chermiti’s hat-trick helped the Glasgow side defeat leaders Hearts 4-2 at a rocking Ibrox.
Rohl believes that new £4.7m signing Ryan Naderi, who he has been likened to Germany legend Thomas Mueller, is helping get the best of the Portuguese forward.
“Against Hearts, he (Chermiti) was outstanding”, Rohl said. “Ryan (Naderi), I think you see it in the training I said to him, you’re a little bit like Thomas Müller, and sometimes you don’t know how, but you are doing the right things.
“Ryan is i the box. He is always in the right moments, and it gives a little more time for the other striker, and this is what I wanted with two strikers in front.
“You have to go from game to game, it was a good statement at the weekend.”
There was further positive news this week, after defender John Souttar agreed to sign a new, contract until the end of the 2026/27 season, with the club holding the option to extend the deal by a further year.
“It’s important to have loads of leaders to continue with, and John’s done a good job so far.
“It’s important to build something around. Hopefully it will be a great summer for him, finish the season strong and then go to a Word Cup which is always special.”
Rangers take on Livingston at the Almondvale Stadium at 3pm on Sunday.
