Rangers hope they can be the team to halt Hibernian’s impressive run of form when the sides meet in this weekend’s League Cup final.
Motherwell’s Fir Park will host the SWPL Sky Sports showpiece on Saturday, and the season’s first piece of silverware will be on the line.
Hibs have been unbeaten since September and currently lead the top division, two points ahead of second-placed Rangers.
The Edinburgh side will arrive in North Lanarkshire on the back of consecutive wins over Celtic and Glasgow City in their last two games.
However, Rangers have won the SWPL Cup in the previous two seasons and are aiming to make it three in a row.
Manager Jo Potter said: “They’ve got momentum and confidence. They got a couple of really good results recently and what is most surprising to me is that it has lasted so long.
“The consistency they have shown is great for them, but we want to be the ones to stop it, obviously.”
Hibs recorded a 3-0 victory in Glasgow when the sides last met in the league back in December.
Rangers player Nicola Docherty admits they let themselves down with a “disappointing” performance and will be looking to make up for it in the final.
She said: “The last result we had against Hibs was disappointing, we let ourselves down that day so we are looking to bounce back.
“It’s a cup final, and it’s a trophy that is ours right now, so we want to maintain that.”
