Rangers will face Red Bull Salzburg or FC Twente in the Champions League play-offs, if they defeat Dynamo Kyiv in the third qualifying round of the competition.
The Scottish champions were seeded in Monday’s UEFA draw and they now know who could stand between them and the lucrative group stage of the elite tournament, provided they can overcome their Ukrainian opposition over the next two weeks.
Philippe Clement and his players travel to Poland to face Dynamo Kyiv in the first leg of their qualifier on Tuesday, with the return match being played at Hampden next Tuesday.
If successful, they’ll then take on the winner of the Salzburg v Twente qualifier in the play-off with the glamour matches of the group stage, and the millions of pounds in prize money, there for the winner.

Salburg booked a Champions League qualifying place by finishing second in the Austrian Bundesliga last season.
The team are managed by Pep Ljinders, who worked under Brendan Rodgers at Liverpool before being promoted to assistant manager under Jurgen Klopp
FC Twente were third in the Eredivisie last year, finishing behind Feyenoord and winners PSV. A meeting with Rangers would see former players of both clubs making a quick return to their previous employers, with forward Sam Lammers having left Rangers for Twente this summer, with the Dutch side’s captain Robin Propper sealing a move to Ibrox just last week.
Play-off matches are set to take place on August 20/21 and 27/28 with Rangers at home in the first leg if they progress.
