Rangers are interested in signing former Aberdeen striker Bojan Miovski on loan, STV has learned.

It is understood the Ibrox side are interested in the Girona forward, but that a bit of work needs to be done for a deal to be agreed.

Miovski signed a four-year contract with the Spanish side in August last year after starting 91 games for Aberdeen and scoring 44 times.

The North Macedonian moved to Pittodrie from MTK Budapest for £600,000 in 2022, and went on to become one of the Premiership’s best players.

Miovski became the club’s record sale when he left in 2024, surpassing the fee received from Calvin Ramsay’s move to Liverpool in 2022.

The 26-year-old attacker has made 23 appearances for Girona, scoring four goals.

Rangers have made a number of attacking signings in the transfer window, including the arrivals of winger Oliver Antman and forward Djeidi Gassama.

It comes amid speculation over the future of forward Cyriel Dessers after a bid from AEK Athens was rejected earlier in the summer.

Hamza Igamane also became the subject of interest from French side LOSC Lille in June.
